CLO #6: Formulate and articulate a stance through and in your writing

Stance is a key rhetorical device in technical writing, especially something like a memo or an engineering proposal. Stance and purpose sort of go hand in hand because without a stance on a certain topic there isn’t much “purpose” to your writing unless the writing is strictly informative. An example of me articulating a stance is in my memo where I had to explain my stance that being the fact that the escalators in the NAC not operating properly is a major inconvenience to both students and staff (Figure 6)
